From the minds of Magnificent Events and Entertainment, straight out of Chicagoland, Radio Gaga is set to hit the Grand Central Stage at the Illinois State Fair on Thursday, August 11th at 7pm. This power pop duo is a music lover’s dream- Lady Gaga AND Queen? Yes, please!
Josh Scholl, aka Freddie Mercury, took some time with Sarah Smerz to talk about the Radio Gaga experience and more. Check out the interview below:
What can someone expect at a Radio Gaga show?
It’s loud, it’s crazy, it’s nonstop. It’s everything from the Lady Gaga and Queen catalog… playing their own hits, playing each other’s hits, duetting… can’t wait to bring it out.
Are you from the Chicago area?
We are. We’re friends with many different bands. We put it together during quarantine as a labor of love… we’re excited to see where it takes us.
Why do you love Freddie so much?
He’s the consummate showman. I majored in theatre in college. I fell in love with rock music in college… I love Freddie because he’s the quintessential showman. He bridges the gap between theatre and rock and roll.
What’s your favorite song to perform?
When the audience realizes we’re jumping into the Live Aid thing… I still get chills. Everybody’s singing along and putting their hands up… I get a good high every time.
Do you have a favorite fair food?
Funnel cake. Can’t beat ’em.
